Our Darjeeling is an excellent tea for discerning tea lovers. Gentle and at the same time complex, floral and fruity tea that will take your taste buds on a journey of discovery. Darjeeling is located in the Indian Mahabharata mountain range (the so-called "lesser Himalayas"), which is truly an exceptional tea region. At an altitude of around 2,000 meters above sea level, tea is only grown in certain seasons in the hilly tea gardens here. Each season gives teas their own character.
Our tea masters use teas mainly from the first spring harvest. That's when the young leaves have the freshest and most floral character. He mixes them with teas from the summer harvest. At this time, the leaves are already more mature and give the infusion richer, fruitier notes, which often resemble grapes of the Muscat variety.
Our Darjeeling has a bright and golden color in the cup, a refreshing and lively taste with a delicate harmony of flavors. Tea is pleasant at any time of the day, but we like it best in the afternoon, when it is served without milk, so that all its aromas and fresh taste stand out. Loose Darjeeling gives you a more refined brewing experience than tea bags.
Our loose Darjeeling tea leaves are sealed in foil inside the bags to ensure freshness.
The cover is decorated with William Marlowe's 1788 painting "Blackfriars Bridge and St Paul's Cathedral". This image shows central London and the Thames - the river that connects Britain to the rest of the world - and we think it describes our Darjeeling well.
We are honored that our Darjeeling tea received the Great Taste Award in 2018. The judges of Great Taste, the world's most prestigious food and drink award, praised our tea for its "balanced, long-lasting taste" and for "bringing out a distinct Darjeeling character" in every cup.
