A 2-phase depot tablet Doppelherz Selen 100 contains 20 µg from the immediate phase and 80 µg from the depot phase. This is important because selenium helps protect cells from oxidative stress and contributes to the normal functioning of the immune system and thyroid. However, the body cannot produce the trace element selenium itself. Since the soil in Germany is often low in selenium, plant-based foods often only contribute to a small extent to the selenium intake. An additional supply of selenium can therefore be beneficial.
